Student Supplies

2009-2010

Parents, please remember to put your child's first and last name and room number on EVERYTHING (coats, gloves, hats, lunch boxes, eyeglass cases, backpacks)

THE SCHOOL STORE WILL BE OPEN ON THE DAY OF THE SEPTEMBER ORIENTATION PROGRAM FROM 1:00 - 4:00 P.M.

IT WILL ALSO BE OPEN EVERY MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY MORNING BEFORE SCHOOL.

All Grades

NO SLIP ON OR PLATFORM SNEAKERS ARE PERMITTED IN GYM CLASS. ALSO NO ROLLER SNEAKERS ARE ALLOWED IN SCHOOL. Children will be restricted from playing gym if they don't have velcro or tied sneakers due to safety reasons.

No high-heeled sneakers permitted in gym class because they are unsafe when playing running games.

Kindergarten

Parents are to bring the following to the student orientation program the day before school officially opens.

2   boxes #2 pencils (Ticonderoga brand name) SHARPENED
1   package of 3 x 5 index cards (lined)
3   bottles (7.625 fl.oz.) of white Elmer's School Glue
2   large boxes of tissues
1   bottle of antibacterial liquid soap with pump top
1   backpack (large enough to fit folder without bending it) no backpacks on wheels
1   Marble Notebook
1   package of 8 classic color washable markers Crayola brand (no glitter or stamper markers, please)
5   large glue sticks
2   boxes baby wipes
1   box colored pencils (Crayola brand)
1   box of quart or gallon size Ziploc bags
1   pocket folder (pockets on the bottom, not side)

The children will also need a smock (an old adult-sized shirt offers the best protection.)

A specific teacher may ask for a few additional items in September.

Grade 1

1   box of Ziploc bags - girls quart size and boys gallon size

1   roll of clear contact paper (to be used at home to cover workbooks)
1   package pencil top erasers
2   erasers
3   marble hard covered notebooks (no spirals, please)
2   pocket folders (pockets on the bottom, not side)
1   box 24 crayons (or more)
1   package Crayola washable markers
1   8 oz. or larger container of Elmer's School Glue
4   Large solid glue sticks
12 sharpened #2 pencils #2 (Must be #2, Ticonderoga preferred)
2   boxes of tissues
1   pair of Fiskars scissors
2   packages 3 x 5 index cards
1   plastic basket (10” long x 7”wide x 3" high - nothing larger will fit in desk)
1   liquid soap with pump
1   box baby wipes (no refill packages please)

A specific teacher may ask for a few additional items in September.

Grade 2

2   marble hardcover notebooks - at least 200 pages or 100 sheets
2   folders - 2 pockets on bottom
1   box #2 lead sharpened pencils (YELLOW ONLY)
1   box crayons (maximum 24 crayons)
1   pair of safety scissors
1   plastic basket (10” long x 7”wide x 3" high - no larger without a top)
2   large boxes of tissues
1   12 inch ruler with metric and standard rulings (plain)
2   pencil erasers
4   LARGE glue sticks (either Prang or Scotch brand)
1   yellow highlighter
1   box unscented baby wipes
1   bottle pump top liquid soap

A specific teacher may ask for a few additional items in September.

Grade 3


Names on everything, including pens and pencils, please.

2   boxes tissues (large size)
3   red pens
15 sharpened pencils #2 lead
1   eraser
1   12” ruler with metric and standard rulings
1   pair of scissors
1   box crayons (maximum 24 crayons) or colored pencils
1   box of 8 basic color markers
5   150 sheet marble notebooks
5   2 pocket folders (pocket on bottom, not side) one is for music class and one is for library
2   solid-type glue sticks
1   yellow highlighter
2   thin black markers
1   package of Post-its (size 3” x 3”)
1   bottle liquid soap with pump
1   box of unscented baby wipes
1   box to hold student supplies (no larger than 9"x 6" preferably with a closed lid)
1   box Ziploc bags - either quart or gallon size

NO trapper keepers or large binders, please.

Grade 4

1   bottle of hand soap
6   marble notebooks
1   dozen #2 pencils (Ticonderoga brand)
2   erasable red pens
2   erasable blue pens
1   box of basic crayons OR colored pencils
1   box of basic markers
1   package of Post-its (size 3” x 3”)
2   family size boxes of tissues
2   12” ruler with both metric and standard rulings
2   solid-type glue sticks
1   bottle of Elmer's School Glue (small)
7   2 pocket folders (pockets on bottom, not side)
1   pair of Fiskars pointed scissors
2   highlighters (2 different colors)
1   small plastic box with lid to hold school supplies
1   box of unscented baby wipes

NO trapper keepers or large binders, please.

Art Education

Donations for Art Room:
1   Toilet paper rolls/paper towel rolls
2   boxes of ubaby wipes
3   Old long sleeve shirts for smocks

Physical Education Rules

Dress Code:
1. Laced Sneakers preferred or Velcro
   NO platform, open-backed, heelies or slip-on sneakers! No Maryjane type shoes.
2. Dress in comfortable clothing.
   Sweats, shorts & tee shirts preferred because Jeans may be constricting.
3. NO JEWELRY on PE days.

These Rules will be strictly enforced!

Fourth Graders are expected to change top and bottom this year.
They can bring roll-on deodorant, no aerosol spray and no hairspray. Gym clothes will also be kept in your locker.

Locks will be provided in gym class, but you may bring your own lock as long as it's a "Master" dial lock.

All children are expected to particpate in all aspects of Physical Education. If there is a day when your child is not feeling well enough to particpate in P.E. class, a note from home is required. Thank you for your cooperation.
