Summer Music Program for Grades 4-10


SPONSOR
The Summer Music Program is sponsored by the Levittown/Island Trees Youth Council for the students residing in the Island Trees School District.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The summer music program consists of four weeks of music instructions between the hours of 8 AM and 12 noon. Lessons will be a half-hour followed by a half-hour of supervised practice at the middle school.

FOURTH GRADE (2008-2009)ONLY: Students will be offered a course of intensive study on the instrument of his/her choice, depending on availabilty. At the end of the program each child will be evaluated and recommendations made to parents. Instructions will be offered on the following instruments:
Band: flute, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, baritone horn, French horn, saxophone, and percussion.
 Orchestra: violin, viola, cello and bass.

GRADES 5 - 10: Students will continue study on their current instruments.

DATES
The Summer Music Program is scheduled to run from Monday, June 30, 2008 through Friday, July 25, 2008 at the I.T. Memorial Middle School. The Summer Music Program will be closed on July 4th.

COST
The cost is $90.00 per student. In addition, there is a non-refundable fee of $20.00 required from all band and orchestra students using a musical instrument provided by the school district.

REGISTRATION
Registration forms and musical instrument rental forms are available in the Main Office of each building. Please note: A minimum number of students is required to run this program. No refunds after 6/1/08.
