What is it?

The Island Trees School to Business Partnership is our advisory board for the School to Career Program.  It is a forum for business professionals, parents, teachers, and political leaders to network and share ideas that help shape YOUR future workforce. The activities of the advisory board in part determine the curriculum for Career Advantage, an elective course offered at Island Trees High School. The advisory board plans field trips, special events, and schedules guest speakers and much more.

What you can do:

  • You can have the opportunity to “give something back” to your community by sharing your unique skills and experiences.

  • You can hire our students or refer them to a friend in a large or small business or trade.

  • You can set up a shadowing opportunity for a student interested in your career field.

  • You can be a guest speaker in the Career Advantage classes.

  • You can schedule a field trip to your place of business.

  • You can hire an intern.

  • You can chaperone a field trip.

  • Do you know someone with a cool or unusual job that the students would like to meet?  Introduce us!

  • Does your business participate in community out reach?  Find out!
