Contract Activity Package (CAP)

A Contract Activity Package is an instructional method that allows motivated learners to achieve at their own pace and work either independently or in a pair. A CAP has several components: a) simply stated Objectives, b)  multisensory materials that permit choices of Resources that match individuals’ perceptual preferences; c) Activity Alternatives in which students apply newly taught information by creating original resources to demonstrate that they have mastered the knowledge and skills base that either were required or selected; d) Reporting Alternatives--a sharing of the individually completed Activity Alternatives with others who are studying the same subject-matter content; e) at least three Small-Group Techniques to permit persons who enjoy working or learning with classmates to do so; and f) an Assessment (performance or written test) to verify that students have mastered the material they were required to learn (Dunn, Thies, & Honigsfeld, 2001).
