This is Mrs. Hoffman's seventh year at Island Trees Middle School. Mrs. Hoffman serves
students in grades 5-8 with the last names beginning with letters G-M.
She is a graduate of
York College of Pennsylvania where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information
Management. After working as an Account Manager for a prescription drug benefits company for
several years, she returned to school to study school counseling. In May 2000, Mrs. Hoffman
earned a Master of Arts degree from Trinity College in Washington, D.C.
S Mrs. Hoffman sees students for individual as well as group counseling. She has led
counseling groups on topics such as dealing with divorced families and learning how to study
effectively. In 2001, Mrs. Hoffman created the Personal Best Awards program. This annual
program honors those students who are respectful, hard-working, and consistently striving
to reach their personal best. The program has received much praise from students, teachers,
and the school administration.
As a member of the substance abuse advisory council committee and the bully-proofing
committee, Mrs. Hoffman strives to make ITMS a safer place for students to learn. She is
dedicated to helping each of her students reach their full potential and have a memorable
middle school experience.
