Students in grades 2 through 4 are learning the fundamentals of typing. Typing is essential and important.
Many students have been typing their reports and stories on computers.
We find students sometimes spend more time trying to type their work when they are unfamilar with the letters
on the keyboard.
Our students have been practicing on the free online typing programs, one of which is Touch Typing.
Older students are also using the typing books and are typing on Microsoft Word
which was similar to typing practices of a decade ago before the Internet. All students are encouraged
to set aside some computer time at home to practice typing. It does take some discipline as does learning
to play a musical instrument. They can play online typing games which are listed on
