General Information

The Island Trees High School Library Media Center strives to be an integral part of the learning process. It is designed to help students and faculty become effective users of ideas and information, to help develop expertise in locating, analyzing, organizing, and evaluating information, to provide equitable access to resources, and to support the curriculum. It has been designated by New York State as an Electronic Doorway Library bringing the world of information to all of our users. The media staff is committed to helping youngsters develop their intellect, imagination, and values, and to become lifelong learners. The Library Media Center offers students and teachers access to a variety of research tools. These resources can be accessed from any Internet-connected computer.

We hope you will be a frequent visitor to select books, study, work on assignments, research, read and browse. We expect you to use soft voices and be considerate of others. Please adhere to all rules. No food of any kind is allowed and book bags must be left in a designated area. Feel free to ask for assistance at any time.
