ITHS Band Students chosen for LIU Post Band Festival at Tilles Center

Three ITHS band students were chosen to perform at the LIU Post Band Festival at Tilles Center this past April. Students chosen for this honor were senior Andrew Press, trombone, junior Timothy Gundersen, percussion, and sophomore Jasmine Rodriguez, string bass. The LIU post band festival is a combined ensemble made up of the LIU Post Wind Symphony and selected high school musicians from across the New York Metropolitan area that are chosen based on high NYSSMA festival scores and teacher recommendations. The festival band performed under the baton of Dr. James McRoy, LIU Post Director of Wind Studies and Artistic Director/Conductor of the festival, and it featured compositions from Composer-in Residence at LIU Post, Mark Camphouse. The festival was a three-day event, the first two days with evening rehearsals, with the performance on the third evening at the Tilles Center. Congratulations to these band students for this achievement, and thank you to Mr. Greg Warnokowski, HS band director, for nominating students and preparing them for this performance!
