Island Trees Orchestra Students perform at LISFA Festivals!

Island Trees orchestra students were chosen and performed for the Long Island Strings Festival Association(LISFA) Intermediate and Secondary festivals this past school year.  The LISFA Festivals give advanced strings students the chance to play together with other students throughout Nassau County to give them a memorable musical experience that will last a lifetime. Students rehearse over three days and perform together on the final day, with a renowned director chosen by the LISFA Executive Board.

Students are nominated based on their high achievements at the spring NYSSMA Festival as well as their hard work in their school orchestras.  Music Teachers nominating must be a member of LISFA. The Secondary LISFA Festival was held November 17th-19th, at Wisdom Lane Middle School, and the Intermediate LISFA Festival was held March 2nd-4th at Uniondale High School.  Congratulations to these orchestra students for their outstanding achievements in music, and thank you to Mrs. Leiann McGrory and Mrs. Cynthia Marcus for their time and hard work preparing these students for LISFA!
