Communities for Music Education"
Trees School District has been designated a 2018 "Best Communities for
Music Education" in the United States of America by The NAMM Foundation,
the National Association of Music Merchants, through an annual survey of
school districts throughout the United States. The 19th
Annual Best Communities for Music Education sought out school districts
that have outstanding efforts by board of education members, community
leaders, administrators, teachers, parents, and students who have made
music education an important part of the core curriculum. The evaluation
on schools and districts was based on funding, staffing of highly
qualified teachers, commitment to standards, and access to music
instruction for all students.
Out of thousands of school
districts throughout the United States that participated in the NAMM
Music Education Survey, 583 were designated as "The Best Communities for
Music Education" for 2018, making this a high honor for Island Trees
School District included in this list of top rated school districts.
School Districts that are chosen have a community that
demonstrates commitment to providing a quality, enriching, and sound
music education program for students and being committed to continuing
support of the music education program within the school district.
