Congratulations to Ric Masi on being accepted for admission to the prestigious United States Military Academy.

The United States Military Academy at West Point is one of the most elite institutions in the country.  Students, or cadets as they are called at the West Point, receive a full scholarship to the school in exchange for a five-year commitment to the Army after graduation.

Admissions to West Point is an exceptional honor reserved for the nation's most promising students.  Even though the application process started a year ago, Ric has always displayed the character necessary to be a cadet.  His high school years have been filled with service to his school, church and community.  Most recently, he was awarded with the Senator Kemp Hannon Leadership award, The American Legion Boys State Leadership Program and the West Point Summer Leadership Experience.

Ric always wanted to be a solider and became inspired to attend the USMA after learning about the core values the Academy follows. "To educate, train and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, Country and be prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the Nation as an officer in the United States Army."  Ric's goal is to live this mission.

Ric is honored to live in the Island Trees community and attend Island Trees High School and looks forward to the opportunity to attend West Point and serve his country.

Ric will be embarking on a 47 month West Point experience this summer which will culminate with him serving our nation as a commissioned leader of character in the Army. We are all very proud of Ric and wish him the best of luck in the future.
