Sterling National Bank Supports Island Trees School to Career Program
On January 16, 2018, our Career Advantage students at Island Trees High School had the coolest midterm. Sponsored by Sterling National Bank, with a generous grant, the students were transported to the Long Island Marriott in Uniondale for the 13th Annual Lois Cornibert Memorial S.T.A.R.S. (Students Taking Action for Real Success) Interview Conference. At the forum, our students had the unique opportunity to interview with members of our Island Trees School to Business Partnership Advisory Board. In addition, students had the chance to practice their networking skills with career mentors from many different fields after the luncheon portion of the conference. The special keynote speaker was BFCU's Deborah Brousseau and the inspirational wrap-up speaker was Island Trees graduate, Nick Tonno, the CEO of Selfie Cookie. Our Career Advantage students learned skills that will last a lifetime.
