Hurricane Harvey and Irma Donation

One of the greatest gifts that can be bestowed upon another is kindness. The students of the Island Trees Memorial Middle School dug deep into their pockets to spread some kindness to those affected by Hurricane Harvey and Irma, raising $230.

During the first week of school, students were invited to play PLINKO during their lunch periods. Each quarter dropped down the board was donated to the Red Cross in order to assist those in need in Texas and Florida. For those lucky enough to have their coin fall into the center slot, they were entered to win the opportunity to have lunch with Mr. Keegan and Mrs. Steele.  Fifth grader, Katie Reeves, was the lucky winner.  She and three friends are looking forward to enjoying their time and pizza with our principal and assistant principal.

Long Island is certainly no stranger to rebuilding after a storm.  Thank you to all those who did their part in helping others rebuild.

-Mrs. Gonzalez
