Island Trees High School Commemorates Patriots Day
On Friday, the students, faculty and staff of Island Trees High School came together to honor the memory of those who lost their lives on September 11th.
Mr. Lou Medeiros, a member of the social studies department, delivered his yearly reflection on the loss and the change that came with that day. Following his words of remembrance, the high school Chorus, under the direction of Mrs. Susan Oliveto, sang a beautiful rendition of "God Bless America."
Our high school faculty and staff dressed in patriotic colors and wore shirts honoring the first responders in our communities. Mrs. Maria Federico, a member of the math department and advisor to the SADD club, arranged for the collection of donations which will go toward the Stephen Siller Tunnel-To-Towers Organization, an amazing 9/11 charity.
