Sparke Celebrates 100th Day of School
The students at J. Fred Sparke in Island Trees recently
celebrated the 100th day of school. As part of this celebration,
students enjoyed activities such as hula-hooping 100 times,
walking 100 steps, imagining what they will look like when they
are 100 years old, and counting and sorting various items in
quantities of 100. The students were also asked to count out and
bring 100 pennies to school, and they were given the option to
donate their pennies to Pennies for Patients, a fundraiser for
the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Many students chose to donate
their 100 pennies, thereby demonstrating compassion and
generosity while simultaneously developing their math skills.
The students at Sparke are definitely "100 Days Smarter"!
