The "Hour of Code" Happens in the Island Trees Memorial Middle School Library

During their scheduled library period, 5th and 6th grade students participated in and enjoyed various activities centered around Hour of Code.

Utilizing their Chromebooks, sixth graders accessed assorted coding sites to gain a better understanding of computer science. Through these sites, students practiced coding independently. Students explored Code.org, Scratch, and Santa Tracker to name a few - all of which are available on Mrs. Lauber's website.

Students in the 5th grade participated in computer science based centers. These centers included coding sites, interacting with the Ozobots, and "think like a computer" drawing activity. During each activity, students worked independently, as a pair or as a team.

Students thoroughly enjoyed participating in Hour of Code. For more information, visit Code.org.
