Island Trees High School Students Go to MIT
Eleven IT students, Ethan Garcia, David Wendt, Kirsten Krick, Amelia and Rebecca Johnston, Kenny Chan, Sheryl Lin, Justin Zhang, Andrew Bacotti, and Dimitris Koliatsis traveled to MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) to take courses at the prestigious university's SPLASH program. Splash is an educational enrichment program for students in grades 9-12 that draws thousands of students for one weekend in November.  The higher schoolers  chose from hundreds of topics ranging from Hungarian history to semi-conductors to quantum physics to costume design. Our IT students enjoyed their time learning new and interesting subjects taught by experts in their fields while interacting with other students from across the country.
