Senior Captain and returning Nassau County Division 2 Finalist Tyler Butrico will look to lead this very young and aggressive Bulldogs squad. Tyler is also a heavy favorite to win this year's Nassau County 120lb weight class. The team graduated more than half of last year's team and the coaching staff is very excited to see the new Bulldog wrestlers demonstrate their talents.

This past weekend the JV/V wrestlers competed in the Annual Uniondale Knights Classic Wrestling Tournament. The team showed much effort, attitude, intensity and grit throughout the day. Scott Mills, Tyler Butrico and Mike Spitaletta each battled intensely and made it to the finals. Scott Mills dominated his respective weight class pinning all of his competitors. Tyler Butrico wrestled up two weight classes and won his first three matches impressively, but lost a close bout in the finals. Mike Spitaletta won his first two matches by pin as well, eventually losing in the finals to the #1 ranked wrestler in all of Nassau County. Christian Barsotti and Rich Ornellas also wrestled very well and had a nice tournament showing, finishing in 4th place. Island Trees will face Herricks, Holy Trinity, Great Neck North, and Baldwin for the first four Non-League matches in the month of December.
