Mrs. Link's Third Grade class participated in a live video conference with the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY without even leaving the Stokes Library!  Students learned about the great Lou Gehrig; an athlete known for his loyalty and perseverance.  The students participated in a play called, "The Iron Horse", which told the story of his incredible life. The students discussed specific character traits that described his words and actions. Lou will always be known for his modest, kind ways and especially from his famous line, "Today I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the Earth."

A special thanks to the Island Trees Library Department for coordinating this event with the Baseball Hall of Fame.
