The IT Outdoor Club made the trip up to Harriman State Park early Saturday morning.  On the banks of Lake Skannatati and Lake Askoti, club members began a chilly 3.5 mile loop hike.  Along the way, the kids worked their way up to over 1200 feet in elevation and made use of their knowledge of topographic maps.  While breaking for lunch, they engaged in their surroundings by climbing on the infamous "Times Square" rock while Mr. Buonomo demonstrated the use of a portable hammock.  On the final stretch, club members were able to explore an abandoned mine and learn about the rich history of mining in the park.  Special thanks to Mr. Vinberg in sharing his expertise on the many rock formations in the park.
