Michael F. Stokes “Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart” Was a Huge Success!
On February 24, 2010, the Michael F. Stokes Elementary School held its 15th annual “Jump Rope/Hoops for Heart” event. One hundred and twenty eight fourth grade students as well as staff members jumped, used hula hoops, pogo sticks and pedometers for an hour. This event raised $2,376.16 for the American Heart Association. While working on their cardiovascular fitness, the students were determined to help fight heart disease and stroke, our nation’s number one killer. During the event, snacks and refreshments were provided by the Stokes PTA.
A special thank you to our physical education teachers; Mrs. Hoffman and Mr. Schneider and
our wonderful parent volunteers for their support and efforts.
We are so proud of our fourth graders!
