ITMMS Students Provide Meals for War
Veterans

The Island Trees Memorial Middle
School FCCLA-Home and Careers Club
and the Holiday Bake Club worked
together to cook meals and bake
cookies for war veterans living in
the Vets Home. Located in
Levittown, New York, Vets Home
serves a residence for war veterans
and is run by Beacon House in
conjunction with the Veterans
Administration.
Under the direction of Home and
Careers teacher and club advisor Ms.
Cheryl Liebman, the students in both
clubs made salad, lasagna, and
cookies for the veterans. Last week
Mrs. Kerry Gravina, teacher’s aide,
delivered the meals and baked goods
to the veterans living in Vets
Home. The residents of Vets Home
were extremely grateful for the
donations and thanked the students
of Island Trees Memorial Middle
School for their generosity and
caring during the holiday season.
