Students at J. Fred Sparke Elementary School recently participated in the Young Authors’ Contest sponsored by the Nassau Reading Council.  Students wrote personal narratives, in which they described an event in their lives, incorporating details and emotions.  The following students were selected as school winners:  Emma Cafarella, Caitlyn Chase, Keith Macias, Olivia Schell, Troy Silva, Christopher Carey, Jillian DeDeus, Dimitris Koliatsis, Trinitey McCoy, Jessica Zanoni, James Ehrlinger, Cathryn Kramer and Catherine Shaul.  These students’ outstanding writing was submitted to the Nassau Reading Council for consideration in the countywide contest.  The faculty and staff at Sparke are so proud of these impressive young authors!
