The Island Trees Baseball program just completed its annual Holiday fundraiser. The team donated $500 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation who provides magical moments to children with life-threatening medical conditions. Whether it’s a gift of a computer system, meeting a celebrity superstar or visiting Disney World, a wish experience can provide an escape from the daily realities of dealing with childhood illness. This is the 15th year that Island Trees Baseball has run its fundraiser which also raises money for the baseball team for clothing to be kept by the players. In that time the team has donated over $8,000 to Make-A-Wish. Both players and coaches feel it important to give back to the community in this way.
