“Terrific Kids” at our elementary schools! |
On Friday, December 4, 2009, the Michael
F. Stokes held a Kiwanis Club of
Levittown’s Terrific Kids awards
assembly. Twelve fourth grade students
received this very special award. These
students were recognized for being:
Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful,
Responsible, Influential, Friendly,
Impeccable, and Caring. The students
were nominated by their teachers and
received a certificate and a bumper
sticker for their outstanding efforts.
The children were recognized in an
assembly in front of their family and
friends. Stokes will be hosting three
more Terrific Kids assemblies throughout
the school year.
We are so proud of the students that
received this special reward: Liam
Siegler, Gabriella Scharff,
Matthew Levy, Sara Arvotti, Anthony
Ruggiero, Maura Kluth, Nicholas Carita,
Julia Andor, Cindy Cruz, James Connors,
Laura Perrone and Niko Kellarakos.
In attendance at the ceremony were:
Mr. Peter Ray, President of the
Board of Education; Mr. Gary Hudes,
Town of Hempstead Councilman; Mr.
Andy Booth, Chairperson of the
Terrific Kids Program; Mrs. Lisa
Newman, Stokes Principal; Ms. Jean
Ryan, Assistant Principal; Mrs.
O’Loughlin, Ms. Manganaro, Mrs.
Townsend, Ms. Rossi, Mr. Steinmeyer,
Mr. McGowan and Mr. Flynn; grade
four teachers.
In addition, students at J. Fred
Sparke Elementary School in Island
Trees were also honored by the
Levittown Kiwanis Club for being
“Terrific Kids.” The third grade
“Terrific Kids” are Gagan Dhami,
Emily Garbacki, Cathryn Kramer, Jake
Kruel, Raphael Loiseu, Russell
Macias, Kaley Santonocito and David
Wendt. The fourth grade “Terrific
Kids” are Kayla Becklein, Stephen
Black, Joseph Gutierrez, Ayman
Hossain, Kirsten Krick, Andrew
Press, Rashan Rai, and Kailyn Ruiz.
