Students Were Treated to a Presentation on Teamwork by the New York Islanders

On Thursday, February 25th, members of the New York Islanders organization visited Michael F. Stokes School to discuss the importance of teamwork. The students enjoyed a videotape depicting an average day for an Islander player. It was quite clear that it takes contributions and collaboration from many in order to achieve success.

The Islanders’ mascot “Sparky” was part of the festivities as well. He did his part to enthuse and motivate the children. The concept of teamwork was embraced as all the students enjoyed the experience.

Sincerely,

Lisa Newman, Michael F. Stokes Principal

Dr. Charles Murphy, Superintendent of Schools
