The students of Stokes School
warmly welcomed a very special guest on January 11th.
Ray Navarrete of the Long Island Ducks, along with
his pal “Quacker Jack”, visited our fourth graders
to discuss the importance of working hard and making
responsible decisions. As the most valuable player
of the Atlantic League last year,
Mr. Navarrete knows how hard one
must work to achieve any goal. He asked the children
if they had any dreams for the future and the
children eagerly shared their dreams with him. The
children were quite enthusiastic about the visit and
Mr. Navarrete fielded many questions.
Members of the Long Island Ducks
visited Michael F. Stokes School to honor Kelly
Domagala, who was the winner of an essay contest
sponsored by TD Bank. The essay discussed the
importance of community.
Congratulations to Kelly Domagala! A
special thank you to The Ducks organization for an
exciting afternoon!
