Island Trees Varsity Cheerleading

 

Dear Island Trees Community,

 

The Island Trees Varsity Cheerleaders are off to a very successful year! The team hosted their first NSCA competition for youth teams in October.  The team spent countless hours preparing and running what many say was the most exciting and organized local cheerleading competition teams in years. Starting the season early, the girls participated in their very first regional competition at Hofstra University. Here, they showed off their talent as a small school and received their first bid ever to the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida. With the support of their coach, Ms. Stephanie Irving, school administrators and parents, the twenty athletes will get the chance of a lifetime to compete in the most prestigious high school competition this February.

In addition, the Island Trees varsity team, again, proved themselves at their first local LICCA competition at Bellport HS on December 5th 2009 taking home first place. With dedication, hard work and elite skills the team continues to demonstrate greatness. Each member shows heart and passion for the sport and with all these attributes we expect continued success this season.  Island Trees couldn't be more proud of their cheer team.

Island Trees students are truly amazing athletes.
