Starting the week of November 9, 2009, construction will begin on our new synthetic turf athletic field at Island Trees High School. Until the field is completed in March, this area will be closed to the community. The creation of this field involves heavy machinery, including large earthmovers, bull dozers, and dump trucks. Since construction sites can be enticing to children, we ask all parents to speak to their children about the dangers associated with playing and/or loitering in this area. Special announcements will also be made at all schools; however, we hope cooperation at home will help us work together to ensure our children’s safety until this athletic field is completed. |
