Dear Parents / Guardians,

On Wednesday evening June 18th at approximately 4:40 P.M. Mrs. Newman, our Principal at Stokes elementary witnessed 4 boys in the Stokes parking lot lining up plastic water bottles and holding something that appeared to be an unidentified cleansing product.

Mrs. Newman was concerned about what she saw and told them to drop everything immediately and come into her office. Three boys fled, but she was able to apprehend one of the boys.

Mrs. Newman immediately notified the Levittown Fire Department, the 8th Precinct and the Superintendent of Schools. The students were caught in the act, therefore, there was no subsequent danger to the school. Information regarding this incident was gathered by the police Wednesday evening, Thursday and Thursday evening at 10:30P.M. As a result three Island Trees High School Students and one Memorial Middle School student were arrested.

Fortunately the situation was immediately noticed and handled appropriately and that no one was injured.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
