[Letter sent to all district residents who submitted a letter of interest]

December 11, 2008

This letter is to inform you that at a special meeting of the Board of Education held on December 10, 2008, the Board voted 4-to-3 to rescind its previous resolution to establish a fact-finding committee regarding the lead contamination issue at the high school.

It was stated at the meeting that since information regarding this issue was provided to the Nassau County District Attorney’s office, the results of any investigation would need to be reviewed prior to the establishment of a district committee.

Thank you for your interest.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

                                                                              Sincerely,

                                                                              Peter Ray

                                                                              President

                                                                              Board of Education
